Ken Smith was serves in Position 4, which he has held since 1989. He is the longest serving member of the Shenandoah City Council and brings a wealth of experience to the council. Prior to his election to city council, he served on the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission.

He is past-Chairman of the Tourism Advisory Board of the Greater Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau and is the Chairman of the Christmas Decorations Committee for the City. He is also President of the City of Shenandoah Land Trust Board. Ken is the owner of Ken Smith & Associates, an insurance brokerage firm in Houston. He was recently named a member of “Who's Who International” for his work in the insurance industry. He is also politically active, having been chosen as a delegate six times to the Texas State Republican Convention.

Ken and his wife, Lori have been residents of Shenandoah for over 27 years and they have two grown sons. They are active at Faith Bible Church where Ken serves as a deacon. The Smiths also have one granddaughter and another grandchild on the way.
