| Using the CodeRed System The City uses the CodeRED notification system to keep the residents and businesses of Shenandoah informed about emergency conditions and community activities. CodeRED can target calls geographically by using intranet mapping capabilities coupled with a telephone calling system that can deliver a pre-recorded message directly to homes and businesses at the rate of up to 60,000 calls per hour. CodeRED uses a database of addresses and telephone numbers that combines information from commercial sources and the city’s utility billing system. You have the ability to add phone numbers to ensure that you get a phone call when CodeRED is used. You can enter a number that is unlisted, a cell phone number or a work number.
